Director of Music Ministries: Patrick Vaughn
Accompanist: Caroline Evans

O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms."
~ Psalm 95:1-2

Music is an integral part of our Christian faith. And because it is so important to praise God in song, we offer opportunities for children, youth and adults to grow and share their gifts with this congregation and the Annandale community. No matter your skill level or ability, there is a place for you to share your gifts in our music ministry. I hope that you will take a moment to find an ensemble in which to share your talents here at AUMC.

God's Peace,
Pat Vaughn

Music Opportunities for Children
Our children are given opportunities to sing in one of our vocal ensembles from an early age. Our choirs meet during the school year (September-May) and typically sing about once a month. In addition, the children are included in special services such as the annual Hanging of the Greens held each December at the beginning of Advent.

We have two choirs available to our children...

  • Cherub Choir - Preschool age - meet during the Sunday School hour; Miranda Lansberry, director
  • Celebration Singers - K-5th Grade - Sundays,  9:15-9:50 a.m. in Room 304; Margaret Vaughn, director; Katie Ogle, accompanist

Music Opportunities for Youth
Our youth are the "salt and light" of our Music Ministry. They provide leadership in choir and instrumental offerings. Young people in grades 6-12 can participate in special services, choir tours and musicals throughout the school year (September-June).

  • Youth Choir - Grades 6-12 - Sundays, 12:15-1:00 p.m. in the Choir Room

The Youth Choir leads in worship 3-4 times each semester as well as special times during the year. They also participate in the Youth Choir JAM held in Richmond each November and go on Youth Choir Tour including Music and Liturgical Arts Week held each June in North Carolina.

  • Instrumental Solos and Ensembles - On an as-needed basis
