Visit the Children's Ministries, youth's The Grid, and adult's Academy of Discipleship pages for details about classes. Immanuel Sunday School is at 9 a.m. On days when only one service is held, Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Here at Annandale United Methodist, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our staff. Rev. Dr. Clarence Brown Jr. - Senior Pastor

Dr. Brown comes to AUMC from the Norfolk District, after seven years of leadership as the District Superintendent. He has also served as District Superintendent of the Charlottesville District, as Senior Pastor of St. Paul's UMC in Chesapeake, VA, and as Director of the Wesley Westminster Foundation at Norfolk State University. He holds a B.A. degree from Georgia State University, a M. Div. degree from Gammon Theological Seminary (Atlanta, GA), and a D. Min. degree from Wesley Theological Seminary. Rev. Brown is known across the conference for his strong preaching, his expertise in church revitalization, community engagement, and his mentoring of young pastors. Dr. Brown's wife Jaie, a former marketing executive at McDonald's, has a Master's degree in Social Work from Norfolk State University. The Browns have two adult sons, Jordan and Collin, and three wonderful grandchildren, Elijah, Zoe and Israel.
 

Rev. Peter Kwon - Associate Pastor

Peter Kwon is a lifelong Methodist whose father pastors a Korean Methodist Church in Maryland. He is a recent graduate of Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, and has a passion for children and youth ministries, as well as new forms of worship.

Rev. Chenda Lee.- Adult Discipleship Pastor, clee@annandale-umc.org

Chenda Lee is a United Methodist elder and the daughter of the immediate past bishop of the Liberia Annual Conference. A gifted preacher and Christian educator, she is married to Dr. Asa Lee of the Wesley Theological Seminary and has four wonderful children.


Bliss Miga - Director of Christian Education for Children, bmiga@annandale-umc.org
Bliss is responsible for planning, implementing, reviewing and being a visible presence for all children’s-related programs, including childcare, education, and worship. Email her for information on our Children's Sunday School programs or to get on the Children's Ministries mailing list.

Patrick Vaughn - Director of Music Ministries

As leader of our music programs, Pat conducts our choirs and music groups from children to adults. Every few years he heads the effort to bring a musical to AUMC, and he also organizes the visits of the many traveling choirs and bands that perform here. Email Pat for information on joining one of our music groups.

Garry Bell
- Business Administrator
gbell@annandale-umc.org. Garry is responsible for administering the business affairs of AUMC and is charge of the work in the church’s administrative offices. Contact him to schedule a large-scale event at AUMC: a wedding, a funeral, and so on.

Trish Bradley - Director of Youth Activities

. Trish is responsible for planning and implementing youth ministries at AUMC, which are designed to enhance study/spiritual growth, service, fellowship and recreational opportunities for youth. Email her with any questions about our youth ministries.

Maribeth Day - Director of Weekday Children's Program, mday@annandale-umc.org.
Maribeth is responsible for directing and supervising the staff and programming of all three weekday children’s programs at AUMC: the Child Development Center (CDC), Early Learning Program (ELP) and Weekday Preschool (WPS).

Diana Dzikiewicz - Media Specialist
ddzikiewicz@annandale-umc.org. Diana is responsible for producing all publications and electronic display media, including that which you are observing right now. Email her with questions, comments, or requests regarding website and Facebook content.

Goldy Galeano - Custodian
Goldy and Mauricio are responsible for the cleanliness of the church and its furnishings.

Amy Halvorsen - Program Director, Children's Development Center
cdc@annandale-umc.org. Amy is responsible for ensuring that our CDC classes remain fun, safe, and educational for all the children in them.

Joyce Kitzmiller - Office Manager, Columbia Pike Campus
jkitzmiller@annandale-umc.org. Joyce is responsible for the day-to-day management and direction of the church office functions and personnel. She handles the Calendar and Registration page. Email her to reserve a room at AUMC for your activity.

Mauricio Marin - Custodian
Mauricio and Goldy are responsible for the cleanliness of the church and its furnishings.

Jay Morris - Communications Manager

Jay is responsible for implementing a comprehensive communication plan to promote AUMC’s programs, activities, events and vision and to help strengthen the church’s role and identity in the community. Email him with anything you want publicized: upcoming events, articles for the weekly bulletin, etc.

Taye Nadi - Facility Maintenance Manager,
propertymgr@annandale-umc.org. Taye performs or oversees the maintenance and improvements of AUMC’s facilities and equipment and oversees the work of the custodians.

Michelle Shepard - Assistant Director, Weekday Preschool and Early Learning Program, WPS@annandale-umc.org.Sherril assists Director Cherrie Welch in the Weekday Preschool and Early Learning Program by facilitating teachers as they develop their lesson plans and by maintaining the resources and enrichment activities required to ensure that our Preschool and Early Learning Programs remain fun and safe places for children to explore and learn.

Dottie Rogerson - Membership Secretary,

Dottie is responsible for Membership/Constituent records, in addition to other general administrative duties. Email her to get on many of our mailing lists, including to receive the Witness newsletter online, the weekly E-blast with information about upcoming services, the Prayer Chain for emails about AUMC members and friends in need of prayers, and the Funeral List. Also email her to buy Flowers on the Altar for the Sunday service, or to tell her of upcoming anniversaries of 50 plus years to get congratulations in the bulletin.

Simon Samuel - Office Manager,

Cherrie Welch - Director, Weekday Preschool and Early Learning Program

Cherrie is responsible for ensuring that children in both the Weekday Preschool and the Early Learning Programs are receiving the highest caliber of educational experiences. She supervises the staff and curriculum for both nationally accredited programs to ensure that they remain within guidelines of the National Association for the Education of Young Children [NAEYC] and Virginia Licensing. Cherrie also oversees the Weekday Preschool and Early Learning Program pages of this website.
